The seat in Africa is an essential accessory.

Each ethnic group has a very particular seat style allowing in the blink of an eye to determine the provenance of a stool or chair. However, sculptors and designers can give free rein to their imagination or take up codes of other ethnicities, complicating the possibility of giving a precise origin. Often near the ground, seats are not intended to eat according to the Western model, as populations do not have the tradition of eating at the table.
